Ingredients

  • Full rack of baby back ribs (3lbs)
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 12 oz Saddleback BBQ Sweet and Savory Barbecue Sauce
  • Scallions
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/8 cup chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • .5 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • .5 tablespoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry spices together in a bowl. Set aside
  2. Dice yellow onion and put in crockpot.
  3. Remove skin off of the underside of the ribs
    • Take the end of a thermometer or dinner knife and insert under the edge of the skin.  Using a dry towel, grip the skin tightly and pull back the skin. It should all remove in one full swipe

  4. Season the ribs with dry ingredients covering top and bottom of the ribs.
  5. Cut Ribs in Quarters so that they comfortably fit in the crock pot.
  6. Place the ribs bone up in the crockpot so that they are evenly covering the bottom of the dish.  If there are two layers, it is fine.
  7. Cover with 10oz of Saddleback BBQ Sweet and Savory Barbecue Sauce. 
  8. Set on low heat cover and let go for 5 hours or when the internal rib temperature reaches 198 degrees.
  9. Once the desired time or temperature is met, remove the ribs, and let ribs rest for 5 minutes. Slice the ribs into individual ribs and garnish with scallions and serve.
