Ingredients (4-6 Servings)

  • 1lb ground pork
  • 1lb ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 3oz vegetable oil
  • 12oz Saddleback BBQ Sweet and Savory Barbecue Sauce
  • 2 stalks scallions
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • ⅛ cup chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • .5 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • .5 tablespoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry spices in a bowl. set aside
  2. Dice 1 yellow onion add to separate mixing bowl.
  3. Add 1lb ground pork, 1lb ground beef, bread crumbs, eggs and ¼ of the spice mixture to the bowl with the yellow onion. Mix well.
  4. Roll into 3 ounce balls (golf ball size).
  5. In a frying pan heat 3 ounces of vegetable oil over medium heat.
  6. Brown all sides of every meatball then place meatballs in crockpot.
  7. Cover with 10 oz of Saddleback BBQ Sweet and Savory Barbecue Sauce and cook on low for 2 hours or until meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
  8. Remove with tongs cover meatballs with extra 2 oz of sauce and garnish with scallions.
